WATCH: Duane Smith supporters in jubilant mood ahead of nomination
Supporters of Duane Smith, the Jamaica Labour Party candidate for the St Andrew North Western constituency, are in a jubilant mood as they await his nomination for the November 22 by-election.
Jamaica Observer videographer Joseph Wellington is at the scene in Pembroke Hall, where Smith is scheduled to be nominated at 1pm, and captured the video below.
Smith, a three-term councillor for the Chancery Hall Division, succeeded Dr Nigel Clarke as the Jamaica Labour Party representative for the constituency.
Clarke resigned as Member of Parliament for the constituency at the end of last month to take up the deputy managing director position with the International Monetary Fund.
