PRIME Minister Andrew Holness on Thursday declared the state of Jamaica’s roads a national emergency and announced an additional $2 billion to be spent on heavily trafficked roads starting immediately.
This will move the road repair money to be spent under the $3-billion Relief Emergency Assistance and Community Help (REACH) Programme to $5 billion and should begin to bring relief to road users shortly.
Despite the latest announcement, the Jamaica Observer continues its highlight of some of the potholes impacting travel on the nation’s roads.
