Arosa Christmas Sandwich with Delect Sorrel Cordial Red Wine Reduction

This holiday season, elevate your traditional Christmas ham sandwich with a unique twist. By using Arosa’s Premium Christmas Ham and a tangy Delect Sorrel Cordial Red Wine Reduction, you can create a flavour explosion that’s both comforting and exciting. Whether you’re looking for a quick and easy lunch or a festive dinner option, this elevated sandwich is sure to impress your guests and family members, making this Christmas truly memorable.

 

Total Time: 30 minutes

 

Ingredients – Sandwich & Toppings

 

• 1/4 cup mayonnaise

• 1/4 cup mustard

•1 Kaiser roll

• 4 slices Swiss cheese

• 6 thin slices smoked fully cooked Arosa Ham

•1/2 cup smoked fully cooked Arosa Ham, chopped

• 1 red onion, sliced

• 2 tbsp Delect Vegetable Oil, or as needed

• 1/2 cup – 1 cup of ham skin, chopped (including fat)

 

Ingredients – Delect Sorrel Cordial Red Wine Reduction

 

• 2 tbsp Delect Vegetable Oil

• 1 red onion, sliced

• 3 sprigs of thyme

• 2 cloves of crushed garlic

• 1 tsp all purpose seasoning

• 1 cup Arosa’s WuWu Sweet Red Wine

• 1 cup beef broth

• 1/2 cup of Delect Sorrel Cordial

 

Method

1. Add ham skin to a greased pan and bake in the oven for 30 mins until crisp.

2. For the Delect Sorrel Cordial Red Wine Reduction

a. Add wine and reduce by half or until the alcohol evaporates

b. Add beef broth and reduce by half.

c. Add onions, garlic and thyme until fragrant and tender.

d. Add all-purpose seasoning and Delect Sorrel Cordial.

e. Reduce to a simmer.

3. To a pan, add Delect Vegetable Oil and chopped, smoked fully cooked Arosa Ham. Fry until crisp to your liking.

4. To a bowl, add the chopped crisp ham pieces as well as the Delect Sorrel Cordial Red Wine Reduction and mix well until fully combined.

5. To a bowl, add mayonnaise, mustard and chopped crisp ham skin. Mix well to create a spread, then add to both halves of the Kaiser roll.

6. Add 2 slices of Swiss cheese to both halves, the ham slices and the chopped crispy ham pieces covered in the Delect Sorrel Cordial Red Wine Reduction

7. Slice and enjoy! For added crunch, add to a panini press to toast the sandwich to perfection.

 

Delect Sorrel Sangria

Sorrel is a beloved Christmas tradition in Jamaica, and this year, we’re adding a festive twist to this classic beverage. Delect’s Sorrel Sangria is a quick and easy way to elevate your holiday celebrations. By combining Arosa’s WuWu sweet Red Wine, with the vibrant flavour of Delect’s Sorrel Cordial, a splash of grapefruit soda and fresh fruit to finish it off, you’ll have a refreshing and sophisticated drink that’s perfect for any holiday occasion.

 

Total Time: 15 minutes

 

Ingredients:

3 cups Arosa’s WuWu Sweet Red Wine

2 cups Grapefruit Soda

3 tbsp Delect Sorrel Cordial

1 cup fruit-either canned fruit cocktail mix (drained) or fresh cubed fruits of your choice

 

Method:

1. Combine all ingredients into a jug and mix well.

2. Best served chilled.
