Police collar main suspect in Barbara Gayle murder

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – The main suspect in the murder of veteran journalist Barbara Gayle is now in police custody.

Observer Online understands that the man was found hiding in bushes in St Catherine.

Gayle’s body was found at her Caymanas Country Club Estate home in St Catherine on Tuesday morning.

She had been stabbed multiple times and had been bludgeoned. Her motor vehicle and phone were missing.

Police said she was last seen talking to a man at her home on Monday afternoon.

On Wednesday morning, police found her Mercedes Benz GLE motor vehicle on Dyke Road in Portmore, St Catherine just a few kilometres from Gayle’s home.
