Three killed in confrontation with police in St James

ST JAMES, Jamaica — Thee men were reportedly shot and killed in a confrontation with police early Tuesday morning in the St James community of Orange.

According to a report from Area One police chief, Assistant Commissioner Glenford Miller, cops were on patrol in the Hellgate section of Orange about 6:00am, searching for persons of interest, when the confrontation occurred.

The men allegedly shot at the police who returned fire, fatally hitting the suspects.

The identities of the deceased men are still being ascertained. However, Miller said that one of them is believed to be linked to criminal activities in Rose Heights.

Three firearms were also removed from the scene.
