Jamaican music legend Beres Hammond has promised that the patron experience at the sophomore staging of the Intimate Concert will be enhanced.

“From a musical entertainment perspective every performance we look to bring something a little different and special for our audience. This year staging of Intimate will highlight the musical richness of reggae and dancehall. We are looking to [also] make sure your entry is more streamlined at this year’s Intimate Concert,” Beres Hammond told the
Jamaica Observer’s Splash.

Intimate is slated for January 4 at Plantation Cove in St Ann. It will be co-headlined by Buju Banton and will also feature Romain Virgo, Marcia Griffiths, Wayne Wonder, and more.

The veteran Beres Hammond also said that he is treating his performance at this concert as a blessing, noting that it is always good to interact with his ‘family’.

“It is always a great feeling to perform with a my family and for our family. We are all on this musical journey together, but every moment we have to celebrate each other and performing is truly a blessing,” he said, adding that the concert is the perfect way to kick off 2025.

Meanwhile, Romain Virgo — the youngest act that will grace the Intimate stage — said that sharing in the experience is a dream come true.

“I’m super excited to be on the second staging of Intimate. I was gutted after getting the call for the first staging and then realised I was already booked for another event. It is an honour to share stage with so many legends who inspire the music I do,” Virgo told Splash.

The singer, who is among the favourites in reggae, anticipates that his set will be well-received by patrons.

“My band and I have been making some changes to the set over the past two months, so everyone attending Intimate will get to experience all that especially it being our first major performance of 2025,” the singer said.

The Intimate Concert was first held in 2023. For the upcoming staging, gates will open at 6:00 pm, with the show slated to start at 8:00 pm.
