Milk and Honey continues high fashion, music tradition
Since its first staging six years ago at Constant Spring Golf Club, Milk and Honey has grown to become one of the most fashionable and entertaining events on the local party scene.
The recent staging of Milk and Honey took place last on December 30 at Sabina Park and, despite intermittent showers, patrons came out dressed to impress.
According to event director Fabeion Dennisor, the party has seen much growth since its first staging in 2018.
“The event has grown significantly. We moved to Sabina Park to accommodate the increasing crowd. Before COVID, the last staging was in 2019. After the pandemic, the event made a strong comeback in 2022 and was featured as part of Best Weekend Ever. In 2023 and 2024, we held both the August and December editions. The event has continually adapted to meet growing demand and expectations,” Dennisor told the Jamaica Observer.
In collaboration with title sponsor Johnnie Walker and other key partners the event transformed a damp evening into a night of fashion, music, and indulgence — though the exclusive black-and-white affair began later than scheduled. Undeterred attendees arrived fashionably late and eager to party.
“Milk and Honey always brings a premium experience… we were confident that our patrons would come out regardless of the rain because of our track record of creating and elevating their party experience,” Dennisor explained.
International deejays Steelie Bashment, Ricky Platinum, and Prince Royal, along with Big Reef, Deejay Jay B, Chromatic’s Creep Chromatic and JR Chromatic, and DJ Tyler, curated a playlist that took guests on a journey through the eras.
The vibe kicked off with 90s dancehall classics like Bogle by Buju Banton and Who Am I by Beenie Man, sparking instant energy as guests unleashed their best dance moves.
The tempo shifted to the sultry R&B set, with timeless hits like If I Ain’t Got You by Alicia Keys and Mary J Blige’s Real Love filling the air.
By the end of the night, the DJs took patrons into overdrive with a medley of dancehall hits. From hard core anthems like Masicka’s Whites to feel-good tunes like Independent Ladies by Gaza Slim, the ladies were treated to sensual tracks, while the hard core selections thrilled the die-hard dancehall fans.
Attendees explored the well-placed food court, where a range of gourmet bites awaited them. The culinary offerings were paired with the evening’s premium spirits provided by Johnnie Walker, Casamigos, and Don Julio.
Asked what keeps patrons coming back to each staging, Dennisor said: “It’s our attention to detail. From the set-up of the bars, thanks to our sponsors Johnnie Walker and Casamigos, to creating an ambiance that exudes premium experiences, everything is meticulously planned… We ensure that every element contributes to a high-quality experience, and that’s what keeps patrons coming back.”
Milk and Honey has also been held in New York and Miami.
