‘More than a concert’
Ministry and music take centre stage at RESET Project 2025
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — The RESET Project 2025 Experience delivered an evening of ministry, empowerment, and celebration on Saturday, January 4, at Manchester High School in the parish.
Under the theme ‘Honouring the past, Embracing the present, Reshaping the future’, the event showcased the transformative power of gospel music while uniting generations of fans and industry icons in a shared mission to uplift the nation.
The event, headlined by legendary gospel ministers Papa San and Chevelle Franklyn, fulfilled its promise of a spiritually rich and family-friendly atmosphere.
Papa San moved the crowd with timeless favourites, while Franklyn’s soul-stirring performance further solidified the evening’s focus on faith and renewal.
“It was awesome because the visionary had a focus and a drive, and I was just blessed to be a part of such a powerful vision. I didn’t come for the crowd, I came to minister — whether it was two people or 10,000, I’m just here to allow God to use me. So it was great seeing the audience showing back love to me,” Franklyn shared after a powerful performance.
RESET Project 2025 also paid homage to gospel pioneers who have laid the foundation for the industry’s growth. Honorees Shirley Willis, Dr Lester Lewis, and Sandra Brooks were celebrated for their outstanding contributions to Jamaican gospel music. Each received heartfelt tributes and standing ovations, reminding all in attendance of the enduring impact of their ministry.
“RESET Project 2025 was more than a concer; it is the start of a movement,” said Annoleah Wynter, CEO of Olamay Events Limited and the visionary behind the project. “We saw lives transformed, hearts recommitted to faith, and young people inspired by the legacy of gospel music. We are humbled by the outpouring of love and support for RESET Project 2025. This event not only honoured the past but also set the stage for a brighter future, not just for gospel music but for our community as a whole.”
RESET Project 2025’s pre-show also brought energy and excitement with performances by award-winning choirs from Manchester and Old Harbour high schools. The PAH Deaf Dance Company and Mime Boys also graced the pre-show stage. Their talent and enthusiasm set the tone for an evening of ministry.
With the January 4 experience successfully concluded, the RESET Project 2025 team is now focused on its next steps. This will include leading the conversations for corporate and government support of the gospel entertainment initiatives.
Plans are also underway to establish a foundation to support gospel music industry veterans, drive faith-based tourism, and create sustainable event spaces for gospel music.
