Chung has big goals for JFF in 2025

GENERAL Secretary Dennis Chung says Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) is determined to achieve several key objectives this year.

Chung told the Jamaica Observer that JFF has experienced significant positive growth in recent years — particularly in improving its financial stability — and the primary goal now is to build on this foundation.

“The main focus this year is to really grow the brand and put it on an international stage, while also advancing football development,” Chung said. “We have been successful in stabilising the financial aspects and governance of operations, laying the foundation by implementing proper financial governance. We are now at a point where we can more comfortably meet our financial obligations, stay current with taxes, and maintain up to date audits. This gives us the foundation to grow and support the organisation’s activities.

“The coaching school, primarily led by Rudolph Speid, has produced significant results. Now, we are focusing on talent development and strengthening the foundation for the national teams.”

With FIFA World Cup qualifiers for both men and women scheduled for later this year, Chung says JFF is committed to supporting the teams in order to ensure qualification. Jamaica’s qualification for the FIFA Men’s U17 World Cup is also a priority this year.

“The focus is on developing our players for the 2026 Men’s World Cup and the 2027 Women’s World Cup,” Chung said. “We also aim to qualify for the Under-17 World Cup this year. With the organisational capacity in place, we are now focused on elevating our national teams to a position of prominence.”

To strengthen its brand internationally, JFF recently hired a new marketing manager, Avery Campbell. Chung says the response from corporate Jamaica and the Diaspora has been positive.

“We are building the brand internationally,” he said. “With Campbell on board we have been working with the Diaspora and support groups, as well as different marketing agencies. The brand’s reputation has been repaired, and we are now seeing increased interest from potential sponsors and partners eager to be part of the JFF’s journey.”
