Pushed by major sporting events, Miami ranked the third most trending destination
Miami has earned recognition as the third most trending travel destination in the world for 2024, according to Google’s annual Year in Search report. Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens gained additional distinction as the fifth most googled stadium in the United States, highlighting the city’s growing prominence in global sports and entertainment.
“Great destination reputations and brands are curated by the level of interest, excitement and awareness generated,” said David Whitaker, president & CEO of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
“To be among the most searched destinations globally — especially as a vacation, resort, and event destination — reinforces Miami’s position as a premier hub for world-class entertainment and unforgettable experiences. It also underscores the destination’s growing appeal as a place to relocate to and invest in.”
Hard Rock Stadium’s prominence as a premier location for world-class events continues to grow, hosting international football matches including the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, the Miami Open tennis tournament, and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. The stadium will also serve as a key venue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, further amplifying Miami’s position on the world stage.
This recognition reflects years of investment in Miami’s cultural, culinary, sports, entertainment, and hospitality sectors. The destination now boasts 14 Michelin-starred restaurants, including Florida’s only two-star Michelin restaurant, highlighting its evolution into a premier gastronomic hub.
“As we celebrate this recognition, we remain committed to ensuring Miami remains top-of-mind for travellers,” added Whitaker. “We look forward to welcoming even more visitors in 2025 to experience the magic of Miami.”
Through innovative marketing campaigns, strategic partnerships, and robust content initiatives, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) continues to amplify the city’s global visibility.
