Mamma Mia to make all in Division Two of Allan E ‘Billy’ Williams Trophy
Eleven runners are set to compete in Division Two of the $1.25-million Allan E ‘’Billy’’ Williams Trophy, a Non-Restricted Overnight Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward going 7 furlongs (1,400m).
The Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide provides an in-depth analysis of each runner’s chances.
1. KWAKU: (7 b h by Casual Trick – Darlin) – Lacks form and is not a viable contender.
2. SONNY T AND CHIPPY: (5 b h by Savoy Stomp – Trinket Box) – Although a recent winner,
Sonny T and Chippy is unlikely to repeat that performance here.
3. DIVINE FORCE (USA): (5 b h by Alternation – Dance America) – Despite being off-form,
Divine Force has the capability to run a respectable race. Note: First-time Lasix.
4. POSITIVE ID: (7 b h by Bern Identity – Bubble Gal Bubble) – Can be safely disregarded as a contender.
5. NEO STAR: (6 b h by Neolithic – Angel Dream) – Impressed with a second-place finish behind
Commandant over 9 furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) on January 1. Neo Star is poised for a big run and could potentially take the top prize.
6. MAMMA MIA: (5 ch m by Soul Warrior – Princess Geeta) – Returns from a 168-day break, stepping down in class. Mamma Mia’s disappointing performance on August 24, 2024 is a concern, but she could still lead home rivals here.
7. MONEY MISER: (5 ch h by Soul Warrior – She’s Traditional) – Finished sixth in the Chairman’s Trophy on December 7, but is expected to run a much better race here.
8. CHOCOMO (USA): (4 b c by Backtalk – Chocolate Chippi) – Returns from a 154-day break and will likely need the run to regain fitness.
9. A GIFT FROM BEN: (6 ch m by Here Comes Ben – Sage’s Giftbox) – Lacks the ability to compete at this level.
10. WHIZZ KIDD: (5 b h by Northern Giant – Mayken Joy) – Has no realistic chance of winning.
11. COOKIE DAY N NIGHT: (5 ch h by Resurgence – Eloping Emma) – Unlikely to make an impact in this race
