Apprentice jockey Tyrese Anderson celebrated a milestone moment in his young career on Saturday, February 8, 2025, as he rode Sir Ganga Jamuna to victory in the opening event of the nine-race card. The win marked Anderson’s first-ever victory, and it came in impressive fashion.

Sir Ganga Jamuna, a progeny of Legal Process and Lady Rakwalaay, produced a scintillating performance to win the five-year-olds and upward Optional Claiming ($200,000) event that included six-year-olds and upward (maidens) over 4 furlongs (800m) by length and a quarter.

The race began with Sir Ganga Jamuna vying for the early lead alongside Schlesinger (Robert Halledeen),
Crushing Power (Chalrick Budhai), and April Spirit (Richard Byrd). As the field approached the dummy rails, Sir Ganga Jamuna asserted his dominance, leading the pack on a merry clip before powering away from his rivals inside the final furlong (200m) to secure an effortless victory.

ZD Eye (Tajay Suckoo) finished second, with Fiery Path (Ramon Nepare) claiming third spot. The winning splits were 25.1 x 37.3, with a final time of 50.1.

Anderson’s maiden victory marked a significant milestone in his burgeoning career, and he will undoubtedly be eager to build on this success in future events.
