PHOTOS: Ceremonial opening of Parliament

The ceremonial opening of Parliament took place Thursday at Gordon House in Kingston, with the traditional pomp and pageantry.

The event, which marks the beginning of the 2024/25 legislative year, featured the formal arrival of parliamentary officials, members of both Houses of Parliament, and other dignitaries, and included the traditional inspection of the Guard of Honour.

The opening was also highlighted by the delivery of the Throne Speech by Custos of Kingston Steadman Fuller on behalf of Governor General Sir Patrick Allen.
