CODA secures exclusive streaming rights for Vybz Kartel concert in BVI

CODA Network (CODA) has secured the exclusive streaming rights for dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel’s concert in the British Virgin Islands next month. The event, scheduled for March 15 in Wickhams Cay, Tortola, BVI, will be available only on CODA Pay-Per-View (PPV) platform.

Presented by entrepreneur Steve Parillon of YOLO Promotions as part of his second annual Black on Black (B.o.B) concert series, the event marks Kartel’s first concert since Freedom Street and his first performance outside Jamaica following his 13-year incarceration. The lineup will also feature top Jamaican artistes Skillibeng, Jah Vinci, and other regional rising dancehall and reggae talent such as Monea, Banco, Revelation and more.

As the first event of its kind to bring international attention to the British Virgin Islands, it highlights the region’s growing presence on the global entertainment stage and strengthens its appeal as a hub for cultural tourism, according to CODA in a press release.

“CODA is committed to bridging the gap between Hollywood and the Caribbean by providing local creatives with meaningful work opportunities. We have the talent, the creativity, and the vision within the region. If we lack a particular skill set or expertise, the answer isn’t outsourcing—it’s collaboration. Teaming up across the Caribbean strengthens our industry and creates opportunities for all of us,” said Lexi Chow, CEO and Founder of CODA.

“Our goal is to ensure that regional talent plays a key role in large-scale productions, while helping to elevate and strengthen the Caribbean’s film and media industry on the global stage,” she added.

As the exclusive streaming provider, CODA will bring this event to global audiences, further expanding the reach of Caribbean music and culture while showcasing the British Virgin Islands as a premier destination for live entertainment, the release stated.

“The BVI is excited about the opportunity to host an event with a world renowned artiste such as Vybz Kartel. This is a historical partnership that will benefit our tourism sector tremendously. The Government of the Virgin Islands should be applauded for the foresight to support an event of this magnitude, as it signals the destination’s capacity to host major events,” Clive McCoy, Director of Tourism, The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board and Film Commission, said.

Meanwhile, Natalio D Wheatley, Premier and Minister of Finance of the Virgin Islands, added: “We are immensely proud and excited to be hosting an event of this magnitude and the opportunity to reach such a global audience via Coda Network. Undoubtedly, this livestream positions the BVI for exposure that we believe can lead to a tourism boost, as well as opens the door for the BVI to be considered as a future destination for other large-scale musical events.”

Tickets for the live event are available Friday, February 28 exclusively at www.codatv.com or by downloading the free CODA Network mobile app for in-app purchases. Fans can watch the concert live on multiple platforms, including iOS, Android devices, streaming devices like Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Firestick and Android TV. Viewers should note that there may be regional viewing restrictions.
