Jamaican gospel recording artistes Carlene Davis, Chevelle Franklyn, Glacia Robinson, Kevin Downswell, K-Anthony, Wayne Stoddart, Carey Sayles, The Foster Triplets, and Jodi Ann Myers dominate the nominations in the 2025 Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards.

The nominations were announced on February 23.

Davis, Franklyn, Robinson and Downswell are among the Caribbean nationals receiving multiple nominations. Downswell picked up 15 nods in several categories, while Robinson is up for 13 awards. Davis and Franklyn each received six nods.

In a post on her official Instagram page, Robinson showed gratitude for her multiple nominations.

The post read: “Wow! Thank you heavenly Father! Thank you Jesus for gracing us with 13 nominations for the Marlin Awards 2025 in Bahamas. Congratulations to our fellow nominees from all over the world. We pray that God will continue to use you for His glory. May He continue to bless you, and take you to higher heights in Him.”

The event celebrates its 29th anniversary this year. The awards programme was established to recognise outstanding achievement in Bahamian Gospel Music from 1996 to 2000.

It was later expanded to include eight Caribbean Gospel categories. The awards evolved even further in 2002 to incorporate other styles of Caribbean Gospel Music and were subsequently rebranded the Caribbean Gospel Music Marlin Awards, distributed across over 40 categories.

This year’s awards ceremony will be held on July 27 in Bahamas.

Some of the categories include: Outstanding Adapted Recording Duo or Group, Outstanding Adapted Recording Male, Outstanding Album, Outstanding Black Gospel Recoding Duo or Group, Outstanding Calypso Recording, Outstanding Caribbean Pop Recording Duo or Group, Outstanding Inspirational Recording Female, and Outstanding Pop Recording Female.
