TRELAWNY, Jamaica-Three retired educators from Cedric Titus High School in Clark’s Town, Trelawny, have been honoured for their decades of dedicated service at the 11th Annual Gala hosted by the school’s Past Students Association’s North America Chapter.

The event, held on Saturday, February 15 at Pines Manor in Edison, New Jersey, recognised Sharon Hall and Dorothy Edwards, who each contributed 38 years of service; and Jennilyn Hines, who dedicated 30 years to the institution.

Their commitment and lasting impact on generations of students were celebrated by alumni, supporters, and community members in attendance.

Dr Avril Keldo, president of the association, lauded the retirees for their invaluable contributions and highlighted the alumni group’s ongoing support for their alma mater. Over the past 13 years, the association has provided scholarships, furniture, various equipment, and financial assistance to students in need.

Looking ahead, Dr Keldo announced an upcoming initiative aimed at giving back to the wider Clark’s Town community. The association will host a health fair in June, expanding its outreach beyond the school to support the well-being of residents. She encouraged all past students of Cedric Titus High to become members, emphasing that collective support is key to sustaining the organisation’s mission.

“This year the association will give back to the community of Clarks Town. A health fair is planned for the week of graduation where Dr Andrea Hyatt Copeland will be this year’s keynote speaker,” Dr Keldo said.

“We are proud of all our accomplishments thus far, all proceeds from this and other events are earmarked to support the school in all their endeavors. I challenge all our past students and friends of the organisation to get involved in supporting the vision of the organisation,” she added.

The gala served as both a recognition of dedicated educators, and a celebration of the alumni group’s commitment to fostering educational and community development.
