It can’t be all bad
Dear Editor,
I dreamt that someone wrote a letter criticising the longest-reigning prime minister of an island called Paradise. I was unable to find in that lengthy criticism one credit or praise for the 14 years served by that highly respected gentleman.
Praising others is not hard if the critic tries to win a friend rather than the unprofitable tendency to hurt. Dale Carnegie’s book How to Win Friends and Influence People is highly recommended.
How unlikely is it to be elected and re-elected for so long without any visible achievements? It may be that the critic is unable to see well with the naked eye and so a light or an electron microphone is suggested.
Let us at all times find the good things to say about others even if microscopes are needed to make them visible to the ordinary eyes.
