Champion jockey Raddesh “Sneaky Fox” Roman is taking a cautious approach, but after two dazzling wins in as many starts from American-bred Supernatural Power, he’s convinced that the three-year-old grey filly has the potential to be considered one of the most gifted horses in the country right now.

Supernatural Power made an impressive debut on December 21, 2024, winning a 6-furlong (1,200m) event by 13 ½ lengths in a quick 1:11.3 (23.3 x 35.0 x 47.0 x 59.0).

She returned on Saturday, March 1, 2025, and easily defeated rivals over the straight course at 5 furlongs (1,000m) in the $1.19-million Restricted Stakes event for imported three-year-olds and upward (non-winners of three) and native-bred three-year-olds and four-year-olds (non-winners of four).

The Philip Feanny trainee won by 6 ¾ lengths in a time of 58.1 (23.2 x 46.0).

Roman praised Supernatural Power’s exceptional talent, saying;

“At the starting gates, one of the horses was giving a bit of trouble, which made my horse get fractious and miss the break. However, I didn’t panic because I knew she’s an exceptionally talented filly who would easily make up the lost ground,” Roman told the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide.

“Her performance and the final time of 58.1 seconds on a common canter didn’t surprise me at all. As I have said, she is one of the best horses in the country right now, and today’s result only reaffirmed that conviction,” Roman added.

As Roman said, Supernatural Power didn’t get the best start, trailing Miss MoneyPenny (Omar Walker)
, Warsaw (Shavon Townsend), and Unruly Mo (Dick Cardenas) in the early stages. However, as the field sorted itself out, Supernatural Power regained her footing and rapidly surged to the front, crossing the dummy rails with ease.

From there, it was a comfortable cruise for Supernatural Power, who accelerated and powered home to win convincingly ahead of Unruly Mo and Riches to Rags (Shane Richardson).
