MLSS warns against fake online job advertisements
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) is alerting the public about fraudulent job advertisements that they say are misusing the ministry’s logo and branding.
The false ads claim that the ministry offers remote job opportunities for unemployed individuals with daily earnings of $8,000 to $18,000.
“We urge job seekers to verify job opportunities by checking the MLSS website and social media pages before clicking links or making payments. Visit the ministry’s official website for legitimate local and overseas job placement opportunities,” it said.
The MLSS is imploring residents to report any such scams to the police or contact the ministry at (876) or 876-922-8000-13 or clientcare@mlss.gov.jm.
