Intrestt faces love woes with ‘Nuh Ready’

Hitmatic Records recording artiste Intrestt knows what it is like to jeopardise a personal relationship in the pursuit of his music career.

He captures that dilemma in his latest release, Nuh Ready, where he details a relationship which is doomed for disaster because of incompatibility issues.

“It’s a true life story, I was going through some bad times with my baby mommy, and I was getting blamed for using the studio as a pass to go look fi other girls. But all the while, I was only trying to look a better life for both of us. That caused a problem because my empress just ‘Nuh Ready,'” the artiste, whose real name is Davion Bent, said.

Intrestt said that at one point, he was so frustrated that he gave up on music to protect the ‘peace’ in his relationship. That is a mistake he will never make again.

“The thing is that no matter what, you always have a friend that was telling her to leave and that one friend is the one who doesn’t even have a life with a man but who is trying to give relationship advice, so that my girl can be just like her…by the time she figured it out, it was too late,” he explained.

The song was produced by Ricky ‘Mad Man’ Myrie and Clarkie, and mixed by Christopher Birch.

Born on October 7, 1991 to parents Mertlyn McFarlen and Rodney Bent, Intrestt grew up in the community of Caymanas Garden in Portmore, St Catherine. He started his musical journey at age 10 while attending the nearby Gregory Park Primary School. He gained respect from his friends and other community members as a melodic singjay.

Intrestt has performed on various stage shows throughout Jamaica, he also did some shows in Antigua and Montserrat where he was well received.

One of his pet projects is working closely with a community-based foundation called Yutes4Change.

“We have to find a way to elevate the youths, we have to show them a better way,” he said.
