KINGSTON, Jamaica –  In preparation for the Concacaf Gold Cup qualifier between Jamaica and St Vincent and the Grenadines on Tuesday at Sabina Park, police are reminding patrons of key security measures to ensure a smooth and safe event.

In a public advisory, the police emphasised that no parking will be available at the venue for the general public and patrons are encouraged to plan accordingly to avoid congestion.

Additionally, security protocols will be enforced, prohibiting weapons and any items that could be used as weapons. These include firearms, selfie sticks, flame-creating devices, alcoholic beverages, glass bottles, umbrellas with metal tips, and frozen drinks. Licensed firearm holders are advised to arrange for the safekeeping of their weapons, as no storage will be provided at the venue. They are also warned against leaving firearms in their vehicles, as they could be held liable if the weapon is stolen.

All attendees will be subject to searches upon entry, and motorists traveling in the Sabina Park area are urged to follow the instructions of traffic personnel to facilitate a smooth flow of vehicles.

The police are encouraging full cooperation from patrons to ensure a peaceful and incident-free staging of the event.
