More ‘action’ ahead for Terror Fabulous
TERROR FABULOUS... if you create music from your soul, and not just for the sake of money, you will not have issues with staying current

More ‘action’ ahead for Terror Fabulous

Deejay prepares new music

Professing his undying love for music, 90s dancehall star Terror Fabulous says his days of ‘action’ are hardly over as he’s been charting a course for a comeback that will lead to new music.

Still keen on remaining authentic, the veteran says his new work will take fans on a nostalgic journey through time.

“Music a mi life. It has brought me through many trials and tribulations, so every morning when mi wake up mi touch the studio. The majority of the time I have is spent recording new music,” Terror Fabulous shared in a recent interview with the Jamaica Observer.

“I love my fans and I love it when they sing my songs; it brings a smile to my face and it mek mi heart feel good. I am looking forward to doing that again with my new music,” he added.

Boasting skills honed from what he dubbed as dancehall’s golden era, the Action deejay says he was blessed to have had his breakthrough in the 90s.

While admitting that the music industry has experienced significant changes, the veteran artiste says he believes his strong musical foundation will allow him to effectively maintain a career in today’s landscape.

“Mi feel blessed to have been a part in the movement. Mi witness some a di best of the best in dancehall captivate the crowd and fully engage them, and mi learn from dem how to feed off the audience’s energy. Mi might have it in mind to draw a tune, but right before I take the stage I change it up, because I learned to read the crowd,” he said.

“That’s very important as an artiste, and I think that will help me in today’s industry,” he said.

The artiste told the Observer that he continues to get requests.

“I haven’t released anything new for a while now, and mi still getting a lot of requests for dubplates, so that show say di work is long-lasting… Mi know the industry change a lot, but we must remember that the dancehall legends were the catalyst for change. Change is good, but I am an artiste who is versatile as well as humble,” he continued.

Still he praised the artistes he calls his elders.

“I appreciate those who came before me because, without them, there would be no me. And, as far as remaining current, music is universal. If you create music from your soul, and not just for the sake of money, you will not have issues with staying current,” he charged.

Outlining that he wants to satisfy the needs of those who have a penchant for classics, such as Position and Yuh Nuh Kotch, Terror Fabulous says he wants his new music to be punctuated with the vibrancy of the 90s.

“I am working on tunes that will give my fans that nostalgic feeling. Dancehall music still alive, and mi wah satisfy di fans who love [the old] hits like… but there are also some great new artiste that I wouldn’t mind working with if the opportunity come,” he shared. “ If you truly understand music, you understand that good music is timeless. That is why songs like Action and Gangster Anthem go way past race, age, and gender.”

Terror Fabulous has not put a definite timeline on the release of his new music, but says whenever it is released to the masses it will be worth the wait.

Terror Fabulous says he has been spending a great deal of time in the studio working on new projects.
