#Champs2025: Gary Card of Wolmer’s Boys runs personal best

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Gary Card of Wolmer’s Boys sent a warning that the two-year-old boys’ Class One 100m record could be in danger after he ran a personal best of 10.06 seconds (0.5m/s) in the semi-finals at the 115th ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.

Card lowered his previous best from 10.07 seconds set last year and the 9.99 seconds set in 2023 by Kingston College’s Bouwahjgie Nkrumi could be broken in the final set for later in the day.

Calabar High’s Jamal Stephenson who ran 10.38 seconds behind Card and his teammate Shaquane Gordon who qualified by time on 10.49 seconds are also into the final along with Muschett High’s Johan Remaldo Smythe who was fourth in Class Two last year.
