Supreme Audio and Electronics delivering peerless service in sales, installation, repairs

Established in 1999, Supreme Audio and Electronics (SAE) Company Limited has, since that time, been making a lot of noise in the electronics market. What began as a hobby for founder and Technical Director Stuart DuQuesnay, today represents a thriving business focused on offering cutting-edge solutions in the sale, installation, and repair of electronic equipment and accessories.

“The company was founded when my husband, in 1999, decided to leave his family’s metal fabrication business and turn his passion into a career,” Teisha DuQuesnay, operations and administration director, told the Jamaica Observer.

Joining the company approximately 10 years after its inception, she emphasised that SAE has always focused on turning concepts into reality. She said that despite undergoing a few relocations and expanding its business model, the company continues to work hard at broadening its specialisation.

First starting with car audio, alarms, reverse cameras, and speaker box fabrication, the business has, over the years, expanded to offer a wider range of electronic equipment and accessories.

“In 2001 SAE expanded its product offering to include sales and installation of electronic equipment and accessories for fixed applications for residential and commercial applications such as audio, video, and public address systems. In 2002 we further expanded our portfolio to include access control and intercom systems. During this time our fabrication department also evolved into designing and fabricating mobile solutions for companies, and any solution a company needs to take their business on the road. As a result, we began to develop products for operational or promotional purposes, such as mobile offices, kitchens, stores, stages or even promotional vehicles and town criers,” she noted.

From its current location at 10 Dunrobin Avenue, SAE serves a growing list of corporate clients, including Flow, Red Stripe, J Wray & Nephew, GraceKennedy, and several others, many of whom are familiar with the company’s work in mobile conversions.

In addition to corporate projects, SAE sells and installs PA systems for schools, factories, restaurants, and hotels. It also offers generator rentals for events.

Supported by a dynamic team of almost 20 specialists in the areas of carpentry, metal fabrication, automotive electronics, sales, and administration, SAE prides itself in ensuring that projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Abigail DuQuesnay, daughter of the management duo, as a trained engineer was onboarded in the later years to add an extra layer of innovation and expertise to the evolving business.

“Over the years we have diversified our products and services to meet the needs of the market. Our commitment to innovation and creativity is fuelled by the dynamic nature of our team and facility to support them. This has resulted in our ability as a small and medium-sized company to be better able to maintain our contracts with global organisations from 2000 to present,” Teisha DuQuesnay said, as she proudly highlighted the successful installation of SAE’s largest PA system in 2024 as a key milestone in the company’s growth.

The high-end system done for a large corporate entity, she said, had to be expertly done so as to conform with a number of international standardisations and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations. Integrated with a number of third party equipment to trigger key sensors, the system will be used to send off important employee warning signals during times of earthquake, gas leaks, fire, and other emergencies.

“The project required major infrastructure works such as the mounting of galvanised pipes and the running of fibre optic cables as well as the installation and configuration of the AV equipment throughout the facility, including a central controlled station, all of which our team was well equipped to handle,” she said.

With a legacy built on dedication, determination, and innovation, SAE is now charting a path toward an even brighter future. The company is in the advanced stages of developing its own product line, with plans to introduce it to the market soon.

“We are in the advanced stages of product development for our own line,” Teisha DuQuesnay
shared, while noting the company’s long-term goal to distribute products regionally.

At the heart of SAE’s success is its mission to deliver high-quality service as it exceeds industry standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients. The company’s commitment to continuous improvement also ensures that it remains at the forefront of an ever-evolving electronics industry.

“Innovation, attention to detail and integrity have been the cornerstones of our growth and success, that is why we continuously expand our resources and services to meet the changing needs of our customers in a rapidly evolving industry. We engage ourselves in ongoing technical and business training programmes, industry research, and technological improvements which continue to keep SAE at the forefront of the electronic industry,” SAE’s management said of the vision.

With an unwavering focus on excellence, SAE continues to be a leader in the electronics industry, shaping the future of sales, installation, and repair services.

“We continually focus on providing a higher than average quality of service and exceeding industry standards for quality control and service,” the operations and administration director shared.

From its current 10 Dunrobin Avenue address, SAE serves a growing list of corporate clients, most of whom are familiar with the company’s work in mobile conversions.

Teisha DuQuesnay, operations and administration director at SAE, says the company’s commitment to innovation and creativity is fuelled by the dynamic nature of the team and facility to support them.
