Dancehall artiste B-Relivant survived a harrowing near-death experience when he was shot five times in his community of Southside, Rae Town a few years ago. Two other persons, one whom was his cousin, died on the spot from their injuries.

Today, B-Relivant still has the ugly scars of AK rifle gunshot wounds to his head, hand and back to remind him of the ordeal. That’s why he feels so connected to the positivity espoused in his latest single, RIP, featuring Doc Blade which allows him to cope with his trauma.

“Music is therapeutic and an antidote for ailment and a stress reliever. I would love to be a music producer and I’m putting in the work to see my dreams come to reality,” he said.

The song was released in April on his own Sasskino rhythm project.

“My philosophy is to ‘aspire to inspire before I expire’. I would like to see a change in the society, especially in the inner-city and that is why I focus on positive themes and consciousness with my brand of music,” he said.

He grew up in the rough inner-city areas of Seaview Gardens, Southside and Rockfort. As a teenager, he represented the Leebert Alliman-coached Kingston Technical High School at the Manning Cup level. He was drawn to music after listening to a Buju Banton album, Inner Heights.

He has produced rhythm projects alongside Yellow Drum studios such as The Matlack, Yellow Changz, and Muss Move projects which have been released on online platforms. He will be releasing the Sasskino rhythm project soon.

“The Sasskino rhythm is being released in remembrance of my sister who passed away recently in Jamaica, it is going to do well,” he said.

He is currently working on another project , the Kieranium rhythm, which features himself, Stylex aka ‘Fatty boss’, Profy, Blac Monie and Cappo 2x, who is based in Canada.
