Shein, Temu prices to increase next week
Customers who shop from the popular China-based online marketplace Shein and Temu are expected to see an increase in prices in the coming week amid the sweeping tariffs imposed by United States (US) President Donald Trump on imports from China.
According to a report from Reuters, both Temu and Shein have written to their customers informing them of the increase, which is set to take effect on April 25.
“Due to recent changes in global trade rules and tariffs, our operating expenses have gone up. To keep offering the products you love without compromising on quality, we will be making price adjustments starting April 25, 2025,” the companies said.
Chinese exporters have come under increased pressure after US President Donald Trump imposed a 145 per cent tariff on goods entering the US from China. China has also in turn imposed a 125 per cent tariff on imports from the US.
