Arriving passenger killed at Piarco International airport in Trinidad and Tobago
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – A passenger who landed at the Piarco International Airport in Trinidad and Tobago was shot and killed early Thursday shortly after his arrival, and another person was wounded when gunmen opened fire on a car parked near the arrivals area.
According to police reports, gunmen opened fire on the vehicle, killing one occupant, and the second man managed to flee the scene.
An investigation is now underway.
The airport shooting is the second homicide since the State of Emergency officially ended on April 13.
The state of emergency that was declared on December 30, 2024, followed a deadly weekend in Port of Spain, where six people were murdered.
