Man charged after 9mm rounds found in drawer
MANCHESTER, Jamaica— A Manchester man has been charged after police reportedly found five 9mm rounds in a drawer at his house in Dobson near Christiana last Saturday.
Charged with possession of prohibited ammunition is Moses Doley, a labourer of Dobson district.
A police report said about 10:40 pm on Saturday the five rounds of 9mm cartridges were seized during an operation.
“The police acting on intelligence carried out an operation where a premises occupied by Doley was searched and the five 9mm cartridges were found,” said a police source.
The source also said Doley reportedly issued death threats and fled his community to St Ann prior to his arrest.
While in St Ann, police there reportedly saw him lurking around cars at an event. He was arrested and detained for processing at which point he was transferred to the custody of the Manchester police and his house searched. During that search the ammunition was found.
Doley’s court date is being arranged.
