Tessanne Chin’s Voice Box joins lineup for Issa Trust Foundation fundraiser
Voice Box, the performance ensemble created by singer Tessanne Chin, has been added to the performance lineup for the Issa Trust Foundation’s 20th anniversary For the Children event.
The fundraising event, which takes place on Saturday May 17, also features headliner, multi-platinum selling international recording artiste Shaggy as well as Lila Ike.
According to Paul Issa, Chairman of the Issa Trust Foundation and a former actor (he played the role of Aaron Levy in the television series Royal Palm Estate), all proceeds from the staging of the event will go towards a worthy cause.
“We are raising funds to complete construction of the Mary Issa Paediatric and Adolescent Health Centre in St Ann. This has become my driving passion and when it’s completed it will be a real benefit to the young people of the North Coast,” Issa told Observer Online on Wednesday.
Issa added, “This year, the Issa Trust Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary. I serve as its chairman, and I also work very closely with our CEO Diane Pollard and the rest of our team.”
Issa said patrons can expect an exciting performance from Shaggy, who he said organisers have tried to secure for the event in the past.
“Yes, we have tried to get him in the past, but this year it finally worked out. He’s going to give us a great show. You can expect an evening of enchantment under the stars at Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios. It’s all-inclusive food and drink, and you can also expect a superb performance from singer Lila Iké. The opening act will be Tessanne Chin’s wonderful singing group Voice Box, made up entirely of very talented youngsters,” Issa shared.
Every patron will be a VIP. A silent auction will also take place, where patrons can purchase items at bargain prices.
Said Issa: “It’s a real opportunity to have a great night while supporting a very worthy cause.”
The Issa Trust Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Couples Resorts. In the past, several chart-topping international and local acts have performed at the annual fund-raiser.
They include Michael Bolton, Air Supply, Third World, Ky-Mani Marley, Tarrus Riley and Tessanne Chin.
