Majestic Spice Vegan Food
Entrance with natural bamboo aesthetic.

Majestic Spice Vegan Food

It was a pleasant surprise and a fulfilling experience to literally run into this natural food and products restaurant tucked away on the outskirts of New Kingston, St Andrew. The entrance and fence made from natural bamboo cannot be missed. The ambience was exceptionally quiet, clean, cool, and calming, with the aroma of incense being burnt.

I was just in time to have lunch from the Inu (Menu), which included Ackee and Cabbage with Turmeric, Steamed Callaloo, Ital Stew with Red Round Peas, Quinoa, Veggie Bulgar, and Vegan Flitters. At first, my intention was to have takeout, but I ended up dining and conversing with the owner and chef himself, Bobo Earthquake. My lunch experience was exceptional: 10/10! My only regret was that I did not eat from the Calabash, but next time for sure. These calabash dishes are available for sale from $500 upwards. The lunch price was very affordable, ranging from $800 for a small lunch to $1,000 for an ‘All in One’, which included everything on the Inu. I tried the ‘All in One’ and an additional serving of the Vegan Flitters, which is sold for $200 for a serving of four. The flitters were so good and, most importantly, healthy, made with natural ingredients including callaloo, carrot, pumpkin and of course the signature in-house seasoning – Wholeheap Natural Dried Herbs Seasoning, which is also sold there for only $700 per bottle.

There is a wide array of natural juices available, which are made with ingredients such as spring water and cane juice. Mango-Passion, Moringa-Pine, Blackberry, Tamarind, Carrot, Beetroot, Irish Moss, Callaloo, String Bean, Okra, Cherry-Pine, Sour Soup, Pineapple, and Lemonade are some, to name a few. Again, each bottle is more than reasonably priced at $400 per bottle. I had the Tamarind Juice, and it was spot on. Coconut water is also available for $400.

I will definitely be back for lunch and/or to try the Breakfast and Friday Inu, listed below.

Breakfast Inu (Menu) – Breakfast served daily from 8:00 am to 9:30 am

Veggie Sip (often made with Lentil and Vegetables) $250 per cup

Ackee, Steamed Vegetables and Boiled Ground Provisions $500

Smoothie Pop (Porridge and Smoothie, served at room temperature) $250 per cup

Friday Inu (Menu): $1,500 for everything

Vegan Pizza (served by the slice), Vegan Wraps, Vegan Burgers and Vegan Nuggets, which are all built from scratch.

Delivery is available for a low cost of $500 within reasonable proximities.

Other naturally made in-house products include a hair oil (or hair food) made from Neem and Cold Pressed Natural Oils for $2,000 per bottle.

On Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm until you say when, ‘Vinyl Thursday Natural Record Spin’ takes place. Admission is free, but food and drink are on sale.

Catering services are available and giving back to the community is very important to the owner and chef of this food establishment. As such, over the decades of being in business, Bobo Earthquake has continuously sponsored and catered to individuals with special needs including renal, cancer, hypertensive and diabetic patients, and the elderly.
