KINGSTON, Jamaica – Five Jamaican schools qualified for Saturday’s final of the High School Boys’ 4x400m Championship of America at the 129th Penn Relays Carnal after Thursday’s preliminaries at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

Kingston College, who will be going for a fourth straight title, last year’s runners-up Excelsior High, as well a Jamaica College and St Elizabeth Technical, are back from last year and will be joined by former champions and record holders Calabar High.

Another epic contest is on the cards as Bullis School of Potomac, Maryland, which is anchored by teenaged Olympic Games 4x400m gold medalist Quincy Wilson, led his team to a 3:11.04 seconds clocking to lead all qualifiers.

Bullis School finished third last year and sixth in 2023 but will start favourites on Friday.

Calabar High were the fastest Jamaican team with 3:11.58 seconds, followed by Excelsior High 3:12.52 seconds and STETHS 3:12.76 seconds.

Toms River of New Jersey ran 3:13.16 seconds, Kingston College got in with 3:13.22 seconds, ahead of Archbishop John Carroll of Washington, DC ran 3:14.55 seconds, Jamaica College had the eighth fastest time of 3:14.96 seconds followed by Downingtown West of Pennsylvania 3:15.18 seconds.
