LEADERS Cavalier FC and defending champions Frazsiers Whip will put their unbeaten records on the line when they meet in the Jamaica Women’s Premier League match at Alpha Institute (formerly Alpha Boys’ School) , starting at 3:30 this afternoon.

Cavalier, on 22 points from eight matches, have a one-point lead over Frazsiers Whip. But Cavalier have played one more match than the title holders who are perfect from their seven outings and have scored 45 goals, 10 better than the next best team.

The game will feature a clash between the competition’s top scorers, Frazsiers Whip’s Davia Richards and Cavalier’s Shanel Spence, who have combined for 33 goals.

It is unlikely, given the calibre of both teams, that Richards or Spence will go on another of their scoring sprees — but they will be crucial to the fortunes of their respective teams.

Cavalier, who were made to work for their 2-1 win over fifth-placed WiFi United last week, face a much stronger team today.

Frazsiers Whip are coming off a huge 8-1 beating of Real MoBay AFC, and the odds are in their favour to get full points against Cavalier.

Third-placed Arnett Gardens are to host a tough WiFi United team that has moved up the points table in the last few games. Even in their loss last weekend they showed they are ready to give as much as they get.

Los Perfectos FC have won their last two games and will be looking to make it three in a row when they play away to Proven Girls at York Sports Complex.

The Manchester-based club is in fourth place and will be looking to move closer to the top teams.

Mile Gully FC will be hoping to get their second win of the season when they host Federal United, while UWI Women’s FC are expected to get the better of winless Springers United at the UWI Bowl.
