JPS takes cheer to Riverton Meadows
THE Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) took Easter cheer to Riverton Meadows in St Andrew last Thursday, blending seasonal fun with energy education in a spirited community outreach event.
Focusing on responsible electricity use, the initiative engaged residents in group activities that showcased their knowledge of energy conservation and JPS’s ongoing support to bring homes onto the grid.
Highlights included a festive Easter Egg Hunt, lively performances, and the distribution of tokens to about 35 residents — some already wired for connection, others now starting the process. Attendees also received traditional bun and cheese packages as a token of appreciation.
The initiative is part of JPS’s continued efforts to strengthen community ties and promote smarter energy use.
It follows the recent donation of a stove to the Riverton Meadows Early Childhood Centre, reinforcing the company’s commitment to community development and powering lives beyond the meter.
