Run Julie Run set to shine in Legal Light Trophy feature

Run Julie Run set to shine in Legal Light Trophy feature

Run Julie Run, a four-year-old grey filly, is once again poised to showcase her class as she takes on a six-horse field in the $1.4-million Legal Light Trophy feature at Caymanas Park today.

With a storied career marked by six wins, five seconds, and five thirds in 17 starts with lifetime earnings of $12,685,800 in Stakes, Run Julie Run has consistently demonstrated her ability to perform at the highest level. She is bred by Ham Stables, owned by Karen Parsard and Henry Pratt, and trained by Ian Parsard.

After a brief moment of disappointment with a fifth-place finish behind Barnaby in the Ian Levy Cup on April 5, Run Julie Run has been working diligently at the exercise track, signalling she’s fit and ready for competition. Her recent workouts have been nothing short of impressive, including a scintillating gallop alongside Jamrock Dream on April 13, where she clocked six furlongs (1,200m) in a blistering 1:13.20 minutes. Just a week later, on April 20, Run Julie Run proved her dominance once again, beating I’m Outstanding by 15 lengths with a stunning 1:13.40 for six furlongs. I’m Outstanding pulled up in 1:16.3.

With former champion jockey Reyan Lewis aboard, Run Julie Run’s chances of winning look even stronger. The field doesn’t seem to have any horses at Run Julie Run’s level, making her the likely winner of the Legal Light Trophy. Given her impressive form and talent, it’s hard to bet against Run Julie Run delivering another winning performance.

The Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) is positioned as the second event on the 10-race card with the post time at 12:25 pm while the first race gets off at 12:00 pm.

With Run Julie Run being the clear favourite to win the Legal Light Trophy, two horses stand out as potential challengers for second place. Inspire Force (USA) and Neo Star appear to be the strongest contenders to challenge for second money. Both horses have shown promise in their recent outings and a tight battle could be on for that exacta spot here.

Inspire Force finished a good second in the St Cecelia Cup behind Pack Plays on April 19 over six and a half furlongs (1,300m). Inspire Force might welcome the extended distance and could come with a strong challenge for second place.

Neo Star was an easy winner over Mahogany on March 23 over seven and a half furlongs (1,500m). Neo Star is expected to run well and could be the likely one to finish second behind Run Julie Run.
