One Park Restaurantand Lounge
‘A premium dining experience in the heart of Kingston’, is the tagline of One Park Restaurant and Lounge. This is truly so, as this was my second time in just over one week! Though dubbed ‘in the heart of Kingston’, upon entry the ambience boasts a welcoming open-concept kitchen, which is definitely an international shift still novel to Kingston.
The menu is available via scanning a QR code with a smartphone. The offerings are quite extensive with many international choices from pizza to sushi, and seafood to steaks, including a rich tomahawk ribeye. I would definitely recommend making reservations, as when I did on a late Thursday evening at the last minute, I was advised that I had to arrive by 8:30 p.m. This was due to the kitchen’s and restaurant’s early closure to facilitate a weekly Thursday club and lounge, from 9:30 pm until 2:00 am
With time being of the essence, my guests and I had the most flavourful and satisfying two-course meal accompanied by Absolut Vodka and Ting cocktails and a mango mocktail drink. The appetisers were the Soup of the Day, which was pumpkin and we indulged in the Garlic Butter Salmon with Mashed Potatoes and Garden Vegetables, and the Park Ribs with Truffle Fries for our mains.
The Garlic Butter Salmon was the favourite, which elevated our tastebuds. The Ribs were perfectly marinated and grilled, with a very impressive flavour profile, which left us very satisfied and full.
The entire staff was very friendly and efficient from the onset of making the last-minute reservation and going the extra mile to accommodate us, assisting with parking, making the drinks and even chatting our dining experience at the end.
The total cost of the meal was resonable for me, based on the high quality of the food and exceptional service, a two-course menu with drinks for three ran roughly $21,000.00 with gratuity. Highly recommended, and I will be back!
