SRC inspires hope in entrepreneurial dreams at JMEA Expo

The Scientific Research Council (SRC) is touting the success of its booth at the recently held Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association (JMEA) Expo, noting that the agency brought innovation to life at the event while capturing imaginations and stirring appetites with a vibrant showcase of entrepreneurial excellence.

“Our booth was a buzzing hub of possibility, from clients who journeyed with us from concept to commercialisation, to formulations/technologies just waiting for the right entrepreneur to bring them to market. It was more than a display, it was a story of transformation,” Carolyn Rose Miller, Divisional Manager, Marketing and Corporate Communications at the SRC, told Observer Online.

She said guests, which included students and families as well as science enthusiasts, explored a mouth-watering line-up of products developed at the SRC, including its cinnamon pepper jelly, processed meats, and an exciting new value-added snack, a corn silk cracker.

Deneè Gilman (right), Senior Marketing Research Officer at the SRC, speaking with a guest at the SRC booth at the JMEA Expo.

“The charcuterie-style presentation stopped visitors in their tracks, and one bite of that spicy-sweet pepper jelly paired with our crunchy corn silk crackers had everyone asking: ‘Where can I get this?’” Rose Miller said, noting that the feedback from guests was overwhelmingly positive.

“Many were amazed to learn of the pivotal role SRC plays in driving innovation, supporting small businesses, and helping to build Jamaica’s economy,” she added.

Rose Miller expressed gratitude to the JMEA Expo, held from April 3 to 6, for allowing it to connect with the public, many of whom may be future clients of the SRC.

Noting that the SRC is a one-stop shop for research, product development, manufacturing and testing, she encouraged Jamaicans who wish to turn their big idea into a bold reality to contact the agency at Phone: (876) 927-1771-4 or Email: hearsrc@src-jamaica.org.
