Your marketing team or agency is stretched — let AI lighten the load

FOR marketing professionals worldwide there is a common cry: limited budgets, tight deadlines and the expectation of exceptionally creative output. After working with several brands across various markets I’ve yet to meet a marketing team that has received sufficient resources to create the magic expected of them within the time frames allotted.

Now, added to these time pressures, social media platforms are flooded with AI-generated mock-ups — from personalised action figures and “Ghibli-style” character art to product packaging and home renovation concepts — all created in minutes using tools like ChatGPT’s image generator and Midjourney. These viral trends reflect a larger reality: the creative bar is being raised, and turnaround expectations are accelerating.

With the ability to turn around mock-ups, pitches, and proposals 50–75 per cent faster, marketing teams and agencies cannot afford to ignore AI. By strategically incorporating AI tools into your marketing workflow, both in-house teams and agencies can dramatically improve speed and cost efficiency of production.

 

Current AI Applications Transforming Marketing Operations

1. Copywriting Enhancement: Tools such as QuillBot and Grammarly have revolutionised the editing process, eliminating basic grammatical errors and ensuring polished, professional copy. These applications safeguard against embarrassing mistakes, due to rushed timelines, in crucial client presentations and public-facing materials.

2. Rapid Creative Concept and Prototype Generation: ChatGPT, Midjourney, Sora, Kling, and Runway now enable creative teams to generate visual concepts and product prototypes within hours — sometimes minutes — significantly reducing the traditional development timeline. Designers can now complete tasks that once required days of work before lunchtime.

3. Market research and intelligence: Perplexity and ChatGPT’s deep search capabilities offer speed for analysing market trends and consumer sentiment. These platforms can compile comprehensive research that would traditionally demand extensive manual effort.

4. Brief and Proposal Development: Custom GPTs can transform rough concepts into structured creative briefs almost instantaneously. Similarly, Gamma enables the rapid creation of pitch documents, allowing teams to focus on refining content rather than building from scratch.

5. Audio Production: Platforms like Artlist.io provide high-quality voice recording alternatives without the expense of professional studio time. These platforms democratise access to professional-sounding audio for businesses of all sizes.

The fundamental advantage? Reduced expenditure and accelerated concept development.

 

Implementation Considerations from the Field

Before diving in with AI tools, here are a few key lessons based on my experience:

1. These tools excel at concept development and drafts but require human intelligence for context setting, prompting, and refining final products.

2. Intellectual property considerations remain complex. It’s important to ensure creative work does not infringe on anyone’s intellectual property.

3. Staff require proper training to leverage these tools effectively and responsibly.

4. Organisations must establish clear protocols regarding data privacy and protection. This step is particularly important for financial and health care clients operating under strict regulatory frameworks.

AI positions marketing teams and agencies to more efficiently handle routine tasks, freeing up capacity to focus on the magic… particularly when facing those impossible deadlines.

The question for marketing professionals becomes not whether to adopt these technologies, but rather how quickly they can integrate them into existing workflows to remain competitive in an increasingly AI-powered marketplace.
