I AM VM Awards

Hundreds of VMers — the in-house name given to team members of the VM Group — gathered at the Jamaica Pegasus on Saturday, May 3, for this year’s staging of the I AM VM Awards. The awards ceremony was brought to life under the theme: “Regency Revival: Bridgerton Meets the Modern Era”, and hosted by media personalities Krystal Tomlinson and Archibald Gordon.

“Though our theme may echo the tapestries of high society and stately grace, the true splendour of this evening lies not in brocade or ballroom, but in the remarkable feats of our VM family — whose daily labours render this night necessary,” said Tomlinson, moments before inviting Group Chief HR Officer Dayton Robinson to the stage.

“Let me begin by saying thank you, sincerely. Thank you for being here tonight, and more importantly, thank you for showing up every single day in 2024 with heart, with grit, and with purpose. This past year, like many before, came with its share of challenges — moments of progress, and moments that tested our resilience. And through it all, you stayed the course… Tonight isn’t about pretending everything was perfect; it’s about recognising the real effort, the quiet wins, and the strength of character that kept us moving forward,” said Robinson.

In his address, VM Group President and Chief Executive Officer Courtney Campbell detailed the group’s accomplishments and underscored that the stats shared are proof that they are building a learning organisation, “one that invests in its people, champions ambition, and equips each to grow as professionals and as individuals”.

Campbell encouraged those in attendance to celebrate and enjoy the evening, but quickly added, “Come Monday, let’s get back to work with confidence and purpose, as we continue shaping the future of VM together.”
