UWI Mona to celebrate Malcolm-X
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Mona campus of The University of the West Indies will be hosting a special lecture to commemorate the 100th birthday anniversary of Malcolm-X.
The lecture will be held on Monday, May 19.
The lecture, titled “Celebrating the Legacy of Malcolm-X: A Renowned Activist and Pan-African Champion”, will take place at 6:00 pm at the Multi-Functional Room, near the main library on the university’s campus.
The guest speaker will be Rev Kobi Little, a member of the Little family, and opening remarks will be given by various individuals, including Michael Barnett, senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work, and Steven Golding, president of the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League (UNIA-ACL), Jamaica.
The public are invited.
