Caribbean Cement nears completion of Rockfort Mineral Bath upgrade
KINGSTON, Jamaica- Caribbean Cement Company Limited (CCCL) says it is nearing completion of upgrades to the Rockfort Mineral Bath Complex (RMBC) in East Kingston.
The first phase of the project, which officially commenced in December 2024, included renovations to the bathroom and changing room facilities, the gazebo, and other areas. Additionally, work is being undertaken on the public pool and pool deck areas.
Managing director of CCCL, Jorge Martinez, noted that the team is working to complete the upgrades in the shortest possible time.
“Our team is working diligently to complete the RMBC, and we are committed to delivering a facility that both residents and visitors can enjoy for years to come,” he said.
Martinez also urged continued patience among stakeholders while repair works are ongoing at the facility.
“We kindly ask for the public’s continued understanding as we carry out the final phases of the work. The improvements being made will significantly enhance the overall experience, and we believe they will be well worth the wait,” he added.
Since 2009, the Rockfort-based cement company has operated the complex. In May last year, CCCL signed a 25-year lease agreement with the Jamaica National Heritage Trust and its parent body, the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport.
Over the next five years, Caribbean Cement Company Limited plans to invest a total of $57 million in major repairs and upgrades to the facility.
