Rebelution’s ‘Count Me In’ is gold in America
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Almost eleven years after it was released, the song Count Me In by American reggae band Rebelution has been certified gold in America by the Recording Industry Association of America for sales commemorating 500,000 units.
The song is the title track from the group’s 2014 album, which was released by 87 Music and Easy Star Records.
The album became the group’s third #1 on Billboard’s Reggae Album chart, while opening at #2 on the Independent Albums chart and #17 on the all-genre Billboard 200 Albums chart.
Formed in 2004 while its members were studying at the University of Southern California, Rebelution is one of the top-selling American reggae bands.
The 11-track album Count Me In, was engineered, mixed and mastered by Jamaican-born Errol Brown. The album was recorded at reggae band Inner Circle’s Circle House studios and Burbank’s Steakhouse Studios.
It features the collaborations Roots Reggae Music with Jamaican roots reggae singer Don Carlos and Hate to be the One featuring Collie Buddz.
Rebelution’s Falling Into Place album, was nominated for a Best Reggae Album Grammy in 2017.
