Multiple charities to benefit from Cece Winans More Than This concert
The Bustamante Hospital for Children’s Ophthalmology Unit, Open Door Jamaica Foundation and the Yadel Home for Children Care are just a few of the organisations that will benefit from the staging of the Cece Winans “More Than This” concert tour, which is scheduled for the lawns of King’s House on August 1.
Details of the event were revealed at a media launch held on Wednesday, May 14 at Guardian Life Limited’s corporate headquarters in New Kingston.
The highly anticipated concert is headlined by best-selling American gospel recording artiste Cece Winans, known for her high-spirited and inspirational songs. The event, spearheaded by Come Alive Collective, promises to be an uplifting evening of worship, unity and soul-stirring performances, bringing together families, music lovers, and communities.
According to Eric Hosin of Come Alive Collective, “Every ticket purchase is an opportunity to change lives. We’re bringing this experience to Jamaica, for everyone who needs hope and inspiration. Beyond the music, we want to make a real difference. When we come together in worship and generosity, we create lasting change. This is our moment to uplift lives through music, through faith and through love.”
The concert will be preceded by a pre-show event at 3:00 pm with DJ Rebirth and DJ Sticko taking patrons through recorded gospel delights. Carey Sayles and Jessica Royes will also perform prior to the start of the main event at 5:00 pm.
Chevelle Franklin, Prince Saj, Kevin Downswell and Johnmark Wiggan will steer the proceedings until 7:30 pm when headliner, multi-Grammy winner Winans takes the stage.
Anjell Edwards, committee member, Come Alive Collective, said parking arrangements will be in place at multiple locations including UTech, the National Stadium Car Park, the Police Officers’ Club and Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre.
“There’s parking and easy access for all ticketholders with specific parking arrangements. We have Island Car Rentals doing shuttle service, the JUTC and other partners,” said Edwards.
Constance Hoo, vice-president, employee benefits administration at Guardian Life Limited (a major partner of the event), said the company was honoured to be a part of the concert.
“We’re honoured to participate as a sponsor to an incredible evening with the incredible, one-and-only, Grammy-winning Cece Winans. She is more than just a voice, she is an inspiration, offering comfort and strength to our journey. As a financial institution, our targets are clear, service and results are important and so is giving back. We believe in supporting moments that bring people together, moments that remind us what matters most, country, compassion and purpose,” said Hoo.
