Brandon Lloyd finish second in Big 12 Championships
KINGSTON, Jamaica- Brandon Lloyd of Arizona State University was second in the men’s shot put at the Big12 Outdoor track and field championships at the University of Kansas on Thursday, throwing 20.20m.
The former Clarendon College thrower was beaten by former Barton Community College teammate Fred Moudani Likibi, who threw a season-best 20.28m.
Lloyd’s Arizona State teammate Danielle Sloley was eighth in the women’s shot put final with 15.72m.
Demario Prince of Baylor University qualified for the 110m hurdles final after running 13.52 seconds.
Former Rusea’s High thrower, Aliesha Shaw of Kent State, was second in the women’s shot put with 15.83m at the Mid-American Conference championships.
Aaliyah Foster of the University of Texas was fourth in the women’s long jump at the Southeastern Conference Championships (SEC) with 6.17m (-3/5m/s) as Machaeda Linton of LSU was sixth with 6.11m (1.5m/s).
Trevor Gunzell of the University of Alabama was fifth in the men’s shot put with 19.21m, Ralford Mullings of the University of Oklahoma was seventh with 18.66m with Christopher Young of Alabama ninth with 18.52m.
Habiba Harris of the University of Florida ran a personal best 12.62 seconds (1.6m/s) to lead the qualifiers to the 100m hurdles final.
The former STETHS Champs gold medal winner also saw her extend her NCAA lead.
Jahiem Stern of LSU ran 13.42 seconds (0.7m/s) to qualify for the 110m hurdles final, while Dejanae Oakley of Georgia advanced to the women’s 400m final after running 51.15 seconds in the first round.
In the Mountain West, Shaquena Foote of San Diego State University advanced to final in both the 200m- 23.41 seconds (1.4m/s) and 400m- 52.70 seconds.
Zackery Dillon of Morgan State was second in the men’s shot put with 16.97m, and Kesean-Jordan Rhooms placed seventh in the men’s high jump after clearing 1.95m.
At the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championship, Shantae Foreman of Clemson University was sixth in the women’s long jump with 5.97m (-0.2m/s).
Oneka Wilson, also of Clemson, led the 100m hurdles qualifying with 13.23 seconds (1.9m/s), JodyAnn Dixon- Clemson advanced to the women’s 400m hurdles final with 57.78 seconds; Shenese Walker of Florida State University qualified for both the 100m final with 11.20 (0.7m/s) and the 200m final with 23.38 seconds, while Shanque Williams of Clemson is through to the women’s 400m final running 53.58 seconds.
