Mega Bounce to roll into Montego Bay this Labour Day weekend
Caribbean Mega Bounce, touted as the region’s largest touring inflatable theme park, says its shows in Jamaica have been a major success so far as it heads to Montego Bay for Labour Day weekend.
“The Mega Bounce phenomenon rolls into Montego Bay this weekend for three days at Catherine Hall Sports Complex starting Labour Day (this Friday) and running through Sunday,” Mega Bounce co-founder Kirklad “Bounce Boss” Kelly said. “There’s a new mega-slide ride that’s been added to the lineup also, called SkyRush that was a big hit when it debuted in St Ann over the weekend. Tickets are available online and in stores.”
According to Kelly, Mega Bounce has had some five sold-out shows across Kingston and Ocho Rios thus far and is now looking to bring the fun and excitement to the second city.
“Caribbean Mega Bounce has been an overwhelming success since it landed on the shores of Jamaica with three sold-out shows in Kingston at Easter and two jam-packed days in Ocho Rios,” he said, crediting the event’s success to the high interest adults have in the attractions.
He said it was expected that the bounce houses would have attracted many children but he was pleasantly surprised at the interest of the adults.
“We actually sell more adult tickets than kids. It really brings out the inner child in everyone. I think when we all pass a bounce-about we get the urge to jump in but usually they are too small. Our mega-sized inflatable attractions are custom-designed to hold a lot of adults at any one time so you can unleash your inner child,” he said, outlining that Montego Bay is next in line to enjoy the inflatable theme park.
Kelly also shared that with the bounce houses being such a major hit, his team has been inundated with requests to have the attractions tour all 14 parishes. He says so far, there are plans to ‘bounce’ into at least three other parishes.
“It has really captured people’s imagination. St Elizabeth, Clarendon and Portland especially have been clamoring for us to announce the date when we are bouncing into their neck of the woods and we will announce those dates shortly,” he said. “Everyone is also asking when we will be coming back to Kingston and the answer is definitely before the year is done. At that point, we will be bigger and bouncier than before.”
