National rage!
Nurses and tertiary students mounted street protests in separate sections of the island on Monday in response to violent attacks against women and girls in recent weeks that have triggered national outrage.
Among the victims are two girls, ages nine and 10, who were sexually assaulted in Old Harbour, St Catherine, on May 7; nine-year-old Kelsey Ferrigon, who brutally murdered at her home in Spanish Town, St Catherine, on May 9; a nurse who was subjected to a vicious physical assault by a man, in a road rage incident in Mount Airy, St Andrew, on May 13; and University of Technology, Jamaica student Anisa Dilworth, who is feared dead after skeletal remains believed to be her, were found in Portmore, St Catherine, last Saturday.
