Kintyre Holdings partners with Digitize Jamaica
…Partnership seeks to accelerate digital expansion through Island Run app
Kintyre Holdings (JA) Limited, formerly iCreate Limited, has entered into a strategic joint venture with Digitize Jamaica, the creators of the fast-growing mobile platform Island Run.
Chairman and CEO of Kintyre Holdings Tyrone Wilson said the recent partnership marks a significant step forward in expanding digital services throughout Jamaica and the wider Caribbean for both companies.
“We see Island Run as a powerful tech platform that represents the future of how people move, work, eat, and access services on demand,” Wilson said in an announcement at the start of this week.
“At Kintyre Holdings, our focus is on scaling high-growth ventures, and this joint venture aligns perfectly with our vision of building a digital ecosystem that supports commerce, lifestyle, and entrepreneurship in the Caribbean,” he added.
Under the agreement, Kintyre Holdings is to provide strategic and operational support for Island Run, while leveraging its Visual Vibe subsidiary, a local digital advertising network, to promote the app across key urban and commercial areas.
Wilson also highlighted the role of Kintyre’s recent restructuring of its fintech and e-commerce division, GetPaid, in facilitating the new partnership. “By repositioning GetPaid as a core division, we streamlined operations and cut costs. Now it serves as the foundation for scaling digital platforms like Island Run. This partnership is the first major initiative under that strategy and reflects our commitment to shaping the digital future of the Caribbean,” he explained.
Ronice Harrison, founder and chief technical officer (CTO) of Digitize Jamaica, expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential to accelerate regional growth.
“We built Island Run to make life easier, whether it’s getting your favourite meal delivered, booking a service, grabbing tickets to an event, or finding new ways to earn. Partnering with Kintyre Holdings gives us the backing and experience to scale this vision across the Caribbean and to transition Island Run into a go-to app for everyday convenience,” he said.
Surpassing 17,000 registered users and ranking among the top-downloaded apps up to May 2025, Island Run is said to be uniquely positioned to take advantage of emerging opportunities in both the gig economy and the online food delivery market.
According to data from Fortune Insights, the gig economy is projected to reach US$455 billion by 2027, with more than 500 million gig workers globally. Meanwhile, the online food delivery market is expected to exceed US$505 billion by 2030, driven by increasing demand for convenience, digital payments, and mobile-first experiences.
By integrating elements of both markets — and offering additional services such as event ticketing and professional bookings — Island Run is poised to become the Caribbean’s first true “super app” for daily life and commerce.
Currently available in Kingston, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios, the multi-service app offers on-demand food delivery, event ticketing, and service bookings for professionals such as make-up artists, freelancers, and other gig workers. Following its recent launch in the Dominican Republic, expansion plans are underway for other Caribbean markets, including the British Virgin Islands and Belize, with a targeted roll-out during the third quarter of this year.
