Dawes faces Thursday ‘deadline’ to apologise amid Williams’ lawsuit threat
Opposition Spokesman on Health, Dr Alfred Dawes is facing the prospect of a multi-million dollar lawsuit should he not apologise Thursday and withdraw allegations he made at a media conference earlier this week.
The Jamaica Observer understands that the legal team for Kingston Central Member of Parliament, Donovan Williams and Medical Technologies Limited, (MediTech) have formally written to Dawes seeking redress for alleged defamatory comments which Dawes made at a media conference earlier this week.
Dawes has been given until Thursday, May 22 to apologise and withdraw allegations he made concerning Williams and MediTech.
Dawes was also told to remove the offending publications.
The Opposition Spokesman and PNP caretaker for St Catherine South East, who doubled down on his allegations Wednesday, was written to by attorney, Georgia Hamilton.

Hamilton told Dawes that he has seriously defamed Williams and MediTech with false information.
Hamilton further told Dawes that she has taken note of his move to dare that a lawsuit be filed against him.
The attorney told Dawes that as the old adage goes, be careful what you wish for.
Along with the demand for an apology and removal of the offending content, Dawes was told to provide reimbursement for legal fees.
The Opposition spokesman was advised that should he not act on the letter of demand, instructions have been issued for court proceedings to be pursued against him without further reference to him.
Hamilton told Dawes that she has been instructed to pursue interlocutory proceedings against him given his persistently tortuous conduct and threats he has made which could further without any credible basis injure her client’s reputation.
