Cuban man kills stepdaughter, injures mother in Guyana home
GEORGETOWN. Guyana, May 24, CMC – A Cuban man living in Guyana on Friday chopped his stepdaughter to death and severely injured her mother at their home before he surrendered to police with the murder weapon.
In a statement, the Guyana Police Force said the prime suspect is 40 year-old Wispriey Alfonso.
“The suspect walked into the Kitty Police Station with the chopper in hand. He was arrested and placed into custody. The chopper had what appeared to be blood stains,” the police said.
The dead woman has been identified as Davely Morales, 21, also a Cuban national, who was a sales representative.
Police said her body was examined, and chop wounds were seen on her hands, the back of her head, and jaw.
Her mother, Milaysi Rodrigues, has been hospitalised in a “serious” condition.
The incident occurred in Georgetown where they all lived. The family had arrived in Guyana about one month ago
