PSOJ says appointment of Dennis Chung as FID boss a ‘great choice’
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Metry Seaga, the president of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), is welcoming the appointment of Dennis Chung as chief technical director of the Financial Investigation Division (FID).
Chung is leaving his general secretary post at the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) to take up the new role, effective June 2, 2025.
Seaga, in a statement on Wednesday, said he has every confidence in Chung’s ability to perform the managerial functions which the post of FID chief technical director requires with the highest levels of integrity, probity and professionalism.
“Well, I think Mr Chung is a great choice for the position. The work that is required by this division is important, and I think he will do a good job. He has the full support of the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica. I do think he has the knowledge and experience to be able to be effective in the position. I know Mr Chung is a no-nonsense person, so yes, I think he will be very effective,” Mr Seaga told Observer Online when contacted on Wednesday.
Chung is a certified public accountant examiner, obtained in the State of California and holds a master’s degree in accounting, along with his academic work in the area of financial fraud and corporate and public sector governance.
He has also served as chief executive officer of the PSOJ, and held senior positions at reputable institutions including Price Waterhouse, Jamaica Money Market Brokers, Supreme Ventures and IBM World Trade Corporation.
Chung is a former finance manager at Dehring Bunting and Golding and GK Capital Market, where he served as a director and chairman of the Audit Committee.
