Crystal Morrison registers season’s best in Poland
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Crystal Morrison ran a season’s best 12.97 seconds (-0.6m/s) for fourth in the 100m hurdles at Friday’s 7th Irena Szewińska Memorial at Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium, Bydgoszcz, Poland, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold event.
Morrison beat the 13.03 seconds she had recorded a week earlier at a meet held in Forbach, France and had qualified for Friday’s final after placing second in her qualifying heat in 13.10 seconds (-0.6m/s).
Danniel Thomas-Dodd finished third in the women’s shot put with a best of 18.49m as Fanny Roos of Sweden won with 19.20m.
LaFranz Campbell was fifth in the 110m hurdles, running 13.76 seconds (-1.3m/s) after he had run 13.75 seconds (-0.4m/s) in the first round.
Adelle Tracey was also fifth in the women’s 1500m in 4:08.08 as Poland’s Weronika Lazakowska won with 4:01.99, ahead of Australia’s Linden Hall in 4:02.11 and American Danielle Jones’ 4:07.93.
Rajindra Campbell finished eighth in the men’s shot put with 20.72m, with American Payton Otterdahl winning with 21.59m ahead of his countryman Roger Steen— 21.39m and Nigeria’s Chukwuebuka Cornell Enekwechi— 21.27m.
